Ordinary Membership Criteria

Gold membership is only applicable to security service providers in the guarding and armed response sectors in South Africa, who must be able to prove that they are registered with all the undermentioned statutory and related bodies and who undertake to become fully compliant within 24 months of joining as Ordinary Members.
Application for membership to the Security Association of South Africa (SASA) must be submitted in writing through the application form, together with proof of payment of the application fee. Every membership application must be accompanied by the following valid registration documentation.

  • CIPC Registration certificate
    Valid PSIRA registration certificate
  • Proof of registration with SARS
  • Proof of registration with COID
  • Proof of registration with the
  • Private Security Sector
  • Provident Fund (PSSPF)
    Signed declaration by the applicant member that they do not employ the use of labour brokers, independent contractors or co-operatives
  • Valid BEE Certificate

In addition, an independent audit of the applicant company’s payroll may be conducted, if so directed by the National Executive Committee.
Once an Ordinary member can provide all the valid compliance documentation pertaining to a Gold Member, such documentation must be submitted to the SASA Administrator for verification, whereupon the member will be automatically promoted to Gold Membership status, upon payment of the pro rata annual fee difference.
